MG MGF Technical - hood skicks half way down

hi my hood goes halfway down then stops ,i then have to plull it back up and try again til it works ,any ideas ?

This sticking can be a common fault (see archives) ............

To get round the problem, when you are putting the roof down, move the middle roof bar towards the back of the car, this stops the cross bars from jamming against each other and normally allows the roof to slide down in one move. Works for me anyway.

Yep same problem here. It's difficult to describe but the solution is so simple. I'll try to get out and take some pics this morning.

OK here's two photo's to illustrate the point Keith made:

On the second photo, the bar you need to push downwards is the one my left hand is on. This should release the hood and it should fold down normally.

LOL! No I'm not that good! :) I did try to take a photo at the same time, but it just can't be done. Ended up dragging my unimpressed sister out to take the pic.
