MG MGF Technical - hood sticking

my hood has started sticking when I try to fold it down. I have read somewhere on these BB that this is a problem with one of the hood bars and how to fix it but I can't find it in the archives, could somebody help please

If it is the hood of an F, try pulling back the second bar from the front at the same time as pulling back the hood. This should do the trick.

Guys,

I purchased the additional straps yesterday (as did Paul above) but was charged TWICE for the honour of having 2 straps as the MG label stated DJE000010 x2. The parts department thought that the partnumber was per strap. After complaining and speaking to the parts manager, I've just got the difference back BUT 3 of the 4 dealers I contacted (for quick survey purposes and stock availability) wanted £13 for each strap!! be warned another classic from my local dealers.

But as they say, all's well that ends well ;o)

Good to hear Les. :-), glad you got your refund.

I've got DC's and my set in the car atm, hopefully fit them on Sunday's Run.

Mine was like this and it was the hoods hindges that were stiff. Check that the 2 parts that hindge on the hood are lubricated (I used 3 in 1 oil). The ones just by the rear top of the side windows (if that makes sense). If these are stiff the hood is difficult to push back.
