MG MGF Technical - How much for a new VVC engine?

Have a friend with a cooked engine secondary to water pump failure.

Out of interest how much does a new VVC engine cost? He needs to weigh up this with the cost of repair.

Thanks,
Jenny.

Try Midland MGF at www.midlandmgf.com. Cut out the middleman (or middlelady)

Geoff, I presume from your comment here, and in a number of other threads in the past, that you have some problem with Victoria personnally, or MGF Centre as a business.

I have had very good service in the past from Midland MGF as well as from MGF Centre, Brown & Gammon and Mike Satur. I've even had good service from my nearest MGR Dealer (now gone the way of most over priced service companies) and recently was happy to deal with my local Phoenix who stepped in to take over the vacant premises and customers.

All are in business to make a profit and all are equally "middlemen" or equally "not middlemen". None of them are MGR subsidiaries nor are they MGR Dealers.

I recently needed a part, preferably not at full price, and found MGF Centre to be cheaper than Midland MGF - so in this case "cutting out the middleman or middlelady" was a good choice.

Obviously I have no conection with any of the above companies other than as a satisfied customer. I will however state that Victoria is a bit easier on the eye than Mike IMHO although I'm sure that Jenny wouldn't be as shallow as me when making a choice.

Anecdotal evidence suggests there's less chance of a middleman with MGFC as they have/had access to buying IIRC ex-development/test engines directly from MGRover.

Personally I agree. Go with Victoria. Good service, friendly advice and professional company.

All the best,
Duncan.

I've used both MGFC and Midland MGF - and no complaints about either :o) Price wise it varies as to who is best, so it pays to call ahead.

My biggest problem with Midland MGF is the 3rd World quality of their entrance road!!! LOL

Pah, you should drive round bangalore!, you know curbs in the UK, here the same gradient is a pothole!

Probably just as well you're not driving the Midget over there then Will!
