Does any one know of a facility to regas the hydragas suspension near Newcastle Aus. ? |

As I state every timethis question comes up, Go to someone who works on old Mini's and 1100's, they are experts at it andcharge a lot less than an official workshop. |

Yes Andrew, I have seen your past comments and was after more specific advice. GOOD NEWS... English Auto Spares at Tuggerah on the Central Coast have the gear. 02 43532844 or E mail me for the address anyone else looking for this service in our area. |

There is a website where garages that can work on hydragas suspension are listed. They currently only have 2 garages listed for the whole of Oz. http://www.hydragas.co.uk/search.html?q=Oz |

I'm having mine done tomorrow and I will add the garage to the list if they are competent. Thanks for the link Ralph. Funny thing is the garage listed at Berkeley Vale on the website you suggetsed is about three minutes drive from the only other one I located in NSW. I'm sure there are more and if anyone else has an address I might start a database for Aus MGF owners. |

Well I recomend Link Automotive for work on F's they have prepared and maintain some of the fastest competition F's in Oz,including keeping mine on the road, plus their work on A series cylinder heads and engines which is known Australia wide. |

Andrew, we have in Newcastle a guy called John Collins who owns Dynotune at Broadmeadow. He has owned an F and rebuilt mine from sump up after HGF. I can recommend this garage most highly. My F runs smoother, faster and better than it did out of the dealer brand new, and I know, with the work on the head, the gasket, rings, lifters, sleeves etc, it's going to last many years. I would say a register of competent MGF mech's in Oz is overdue. |

Russ, I have to agree, we now have two names to start the F register competent mechanics list. |

Ahh, now I can handle a speed bump or driveway again. I was running on 95 PSI which looked good and handled well but had "limitations" (tyre scrub). The mech who did the re-gassing was great, he knew enough to check tyre pressure first, over-fill the system on both sides and then drop it to the required height. He rolled the car, bounced each corner, measured ground to wheel arch on all corners and drove it after each adjustment. All those rattles and noises from the body and dash have dissapeared. Its not as firm as it was but I am delighted with the results. |
