MG MGF Technical - immobilser code
hi please somebody help me. My key fob packed up the other day, so not being able to de-immobilise my car to drive it, i phoned the garage wich then reffered me to a place that could give me a code that would de-immobilise my car. i have tried entering this through my door lock and still i have no luck??? kez :-[ |

How old is your car? There was a time that the wrong code was given to MGF owners - it was a few digets out. If you join the Forum (it's free) you can have a look in the archives. All you had to do was add or subtract numbers from the code. |

hiya thanks for your reply. Its a 96 model will that make any differance at all? i have signed up now so will have a look in the archives. |

hi just to let you no i went on to the archives, and read that the second and the fourth didgit are sometimes a number lower than they should be, tried changing the numbers and it worked!! so now able to use my car again :-] thanks for your help. |

You can change the battery or case of the key fob without having it reset by a dealer. You will probably have to press the unlock button up to 5 times to synchronise it the the car afterwards. Chris |
