MG MGF Technical - Instruments bulbs replacement
Instructions of an easy way to replace the bulb/s of the instruments light please ? Thanks. Mike |

Which bulbs Mike? The clock/oil temperature, or the main instrument binnacle? |

Hi Rob. It is the main instrument binnacle. The lights seems to be wearing dim and I wonder whether by chance replacing the bulbs could get some improvement. The bulbs all are the original from 1997... and still going. Many thanks. Mike |

The instrument bulbs in mine are the originals too - from 1995! Not sure why yours should be dull, but equally I don't think that they'll need replacing. Might the problem lie with the instrument dimmer, or the connections to it? Replacing the instrument bulbs isn't too difficult - it involves removing the instrument pannel from the binnacle. I haven't done this job, but it is mostly covered in these instructions for repairing the binnacle, that requires that the instrument panel be removed: http://mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/DIY/interior/cowel_repair/index.htm |

Many thanks Rob. Well... may be that my eyes are becoming dull. The dimmer looks as working well. Grateful for the instructions for removing the instrument panel. Your site is most useful I must say. Mike |

Thanks Mike... I suspect that the website is a sign that I've owned my MGF for too long! LOL ;o) |
