MG MGF Technical - Interior lights stay on
When I close the door the interior lights stay on, have removed fuse 12 for now anyone any ideas on what the problem could be? My wife says she as not seen the interior lights on for a lond time, first time I used the car today for weeks. As you can tell my wife is always using the MGF. |

Is this just the lights under the mirror or the footwell lights too? Sounds daft, but if it's just the mirror ones there are override switches underneath which will turn them on regardless of whether or not the door's open! If it's the footwell lights too then it sounds like one of the door switches is playing up - and they're built into the door catch. This might also affect the alarm so I'd get it sorted ASAP. Tim |

It's a bit obvious but you *did* check that the switches on the rear view mirror are in the 'off' position didn't you? :) |

If you can't 'superlock' the car then the fault is in the door lock mech, it contains three microswitches which corrode and require replacement of the whole lock mech. |

Its the footwell lights too and I can lock the car? |

not properly, the doors will lock and the immobalizer will come on, but a perp can still get in to the cabin with minimal effort and without breaking anything. |
