Hi Darren, looks like you have your easter weekend planned out! Ref jacks - about half way down the list of threads was the same question from last week, it must be catching! http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&mode=thread&access=&subject=69&source=T&thread=2006040414262528999 |

There is a jacking point welded to the front (and rear) subframe - a 'U' shaped bit of ironmongery. Jack front of car from here - but do make sure that the rear wheels are chocked properly and the car properly supported on axle stands if you intend to work underneath the vehicle. |

trolly jacks tend to pull forward or back (depending on viewpoint!), make sure the car can m0ve in the direction the jack wants to pull it or that the jack can easily move on the floor when loaded(most cheap jacks cant) chock the wheels after the car is on stands, or else when you lower the car onto stands the chocks will load up and then pull the car off the stands. never work under a car supported by a jack alone. |

Unless you have a 'Low' trolley jack from Machine-Mart, then you may need to run the front wheels onto wooden blocks to raise the jacking point sufficient to get the jack under it. Geoff F. |

Or use a scissor jack to achieve the same effect - which is what I usually do! :o) |
