MG MGF Technical - Just spotted: MGF CUP car for sale...

Spotted this in the classified section - I recognise the vendor's name too ;o) (should be familar to a couple of folks on this board)... Now if only I had the spare cash - a Cup car would make a brilliant track day motor! :o)

Under 6k... bargain. :o) Oooh! Suits me.
Rob Bell

Blimey, that's cheap! :-)

But it aint road legal so presumably you'd need a trailer and a car to tow it with between meets?

SF
Scarlet Fever

Yup.

Plus, the maintenance costs on the race-tuned VHPD lump is frighteningly high :o(
Rob Bell

Great idea Rob, but logistics are a nightmare.

First you need a car with Tow bar, then access to a trailer. Then there is the storage of a car and maintenance.
Then there is the running cost which sounds expensive.

It is bad enough owning a kart let alone a race car.

But boy would it be fun.

As for the car knowing John from sprints when he was racing it I can imagine he spared no cost in keeping it in top condition.

Road Legality would make one hell of a difference!!

any way around this?...think creatively...get it registered in Venezuela!

half the cars on the roads over there dont even have number plates!
Neil

What I mean buy that is get it registered with Vene plates and then use it over here on the roads!

There was a lancia for sale which has been used over here for years on Vene plates and never had an MOT (they dont do them in Vne
Neil

Hi all,
I really prefer my "french" MGFCUP car. It's not 190 bhp but it's road legal ;-)
I bought it few months ago for the same price.

Hi Arnaud,

Just watched your last video, great one ;)
