Interesting, I think never discussed at this BBS for the MGF. http://www.kenlowe.com/pre-heaters/cars/index.html I would go for one if availiable for reasonable costs. (Have a broken always open thermostat at my car currently and aswell hate to jump into a cold car) Had a similar system added to an Merc 200 Diesel 15 years ago. That engine had the option to plug in direct a simple pre-heater after removing a coolant dead plug. However the MGF hasn't got locked coolant systen drills, so the only option is to install the heater and pump external. How much are these options ? Can anyone out there call them in Berkshire 01628 823303 HS3 2.0 9Amp 85C Limited electrical supply applications or HS4 2.7 12Amp 85C Standard vehicles. Cars, 4x4's etc Regards Dieter |

Dieter Just come off the phone to Kenlowe. HS series now replaced by H4 which comes in either 2 kw or 3kw forms, both at the same price of £234.77, including vat at 17.5%. The kit includes all fixings, including an electric pump. The pump is normally fitted in the return hose. The slaes guy I spoke to said there should be no special problems fitting to an MGF, and can post to Germany for an extra £20. Chris |

Whooo ! ;) Thank You. That's a lot for a *pre-warmed* convertible. I'll keep the information, but I think it might be esonable to looking for a similar system from second hand. Calling for breakers in Sweden !! :) |

I don't think that Dieter would have to pay for the VAT - a useful 17.5% saving. :o) But still expensive! Swedish autobreakers are going to be the best source of cheap 'winter warmers' LOL |

Of course, if you had a pump in the circuit already, then a water heater would be easy (and cheap) to add. I almost added another wire to the pump circuit for this exact purpose, but I wasn't sure about running it for 30 mins off the battery. |

Dieter Interestingly, Kenlowe recommend you clamp the return hose before cutting into it to save draining down the cooling system! Now where have I seen that questioned before? Chris |

>Now where have I seen that questioned before? *g* ... However picked up the idea from another post to the BBS. It was anyone who had changed the radiator with help of that trick. Can't remember the writer. Dave L. ?? |
