MG MGF Technical - Loose rear end

Got my F back after the HGF, it is running really well - (thanks to MS for supplying the parts so quickly).
Since getting the car back I have noticed that the handling from rear end seems loose, it reminds me of how the rear felt before I fitted the compliance washers. Is there anything that the garage could have touched during the HG repair that would affect the handling in such a way?

Tyre Pressures ?

Depends on whrther they dropped the subframe in order to replace the head gasket or not. If they didn't then there's not much chance that they will have disturbed the suspension. If they did - then yes, the ARBs and tie-bar links would all have to have been undone and removed...

Checked the tyre pressures. The garage say they didn't drop the subframe, they just gained access through the wheelarch and so did not disturb any suspension - is this possible?

They would need access through the driver's side wheel arch to remove the cam belt. This is necessary when removing the head. Suspension wise, all they would need to do is remove the road wheel, with this off, access is fairly straight forward, there is no need to tinker with any of the suspension componentry to do this job.

Yes, that is possible to replace the gasket with the engine in situ - just a little less room for fingers etc! As Andy says, just the driver's side rear wheel needs to come off to gain access to the crankshaft pulley for the cam belt(s).

Seems unlikely that the garage is responsible for the problem. Might be worth going round all the bolts and checking the torque settings, as well as getting the tracking reset. The current problem could be entirely co-incidental to the work performed on the engine.

Yes it seems that the strange handling problem is not related to my HGF and repair. I'll just have to get underneath the car and check it all myself!

Jason, are the wheels on the right corners? and in the correct rotation ? Not being funny but I once drove for a short distance with the spare wheel/tyre (195/45*16) on the back instead of the regular wheel(205/40*16) that made it feel weird to say the least.
Mike, (looking for simple solutions)
