MG MGF Technical - mg f gear change cable

hello can any one advise on possible causes and remedy for not being able to select any gear after fitment of a new cable please
clifford

Missing roll pinfrom the bell crank? If the job has been completed this will be covered by a spring clip so it can't be seen.

Lost or forgotten spring clip (not) holding the gear cable to the bracket at the gearbox.
Get one and fit it.

...or possibly the spring clips at the gear lever end have not been refitted.

Prop up the rear of the car then get somone to waggle the gear lever and look at the rear end of the cables so you can get an idea of where the motion is being lost.
