MG MGF Technical - MGF Car Insurance

On renewing my Fully Comp insurance I noted that Personal Accident Benefits are excluded, having checked this morning with Lancaster and A-Plan both MG Specaliast's this seems to be the norm. Is this something new or has it always been the case that in a softtop you have no personnel accident cover. Interested in peoples thoughts? or advice, please.
Many Thanks
Paul Smith

Hi, just renewed with P.Best and they include up to £5000 for the insured or family. Must recommend them as they halved my lancaster policy and no extras for the modifications and hardtop when not on the car.
£154 full comp - cheap motoring i say.jamie

I too can recommend Peter Best - been with them for nearly 8 years. No extra for most mods, agreed valuation included at a premium of £170 for fully comp. Which I think isn't too bad.

Do you have to be a member of the MGOC to get their rates ?
Stuart

To get Peter Best's "Abingdon" policy which is specially for MGs you need to be a member of the MG CAR club, MGCC not MGOC (the MGCC is the original MG club dating back to 1930, and is the best club IMO). Best does have other policies though. Give them a ring.
Mike Howlett

Not sure on that one Mike as i only belong to the mgoc and still got there Abingdon policy. They must be taking all the customers from Lancaster.

Had a quick look at the website, unfortunately for me it looks as if the car has to be garaged for them to be interested !
Stuart

From Peter Best's site -

© The Abingdon Policy - available to MG Car Club members only - Maldon office

© The Register Policy - classic British cars over 10 years old. Must be a member of a relevant club - Maldon and Kelvedon offices

Is there a limit to your annual mileage with the Abingdon Policy?
