MG MGF Technical - MGF ride height

I have noticed that the ride hight of the left side of my F is sensible lower than the right side. This have happened slowly in the last few month. Hydragas was pumped up 10 month ago to 36.5cm both sides.
Is it normal that a correction might be needed so soon and on one side only?. No fluid leakage that I could notice.

Slow settling is not that uncommon Mike. However, keep an eye on things: if that side continues to loose pressure (dropping ride height), then it is possible that one of the hydragas spheres is leaking (more often than not, the rear one)...

Thanks Rob,
Now, if one of the spheres is leaking, you mean gas or fluid?. And if fluid, could it somewhere be tightened to avoid leakage?
JM Vega-P.

As Rob has pointed out there is a leak on my left rear hydragas unit.
I had recently noticed that my F was sensibly lower at the left -driver- side. She is a 97 1,8i with only 20,000k. This morning I saw a large spot of hydra fluid in the floor under the rear left wheel.
As I live in South America no parts are easily available for MGF -very few MGFs in the whole country-.
My question: Would it be possible to repair the leakage?. Is it there something that could be tightened to avoid leakage?.
If not, please suggest me an internet site where to buy a sphere to be shipped to SA. Many thanks for you help.

People who are already used to shipping abroad include Brown & Gammon, Mike Satur and MG Owners Club.

All are available from links on this bbs.

If all else fails, it shouldn't be beyond one or more of us on the bbs to help you out by obtaining and shipping etc.

Keep us informed.

Sorry to hear that bad news Mike :o( You'll need a replacement. John's right though: Mike Satur, Brown and Gammons, Moss international will all do international orders.

You could also try other specialists here in the UK and ask whether they'll ship to SoAm - I don't know whether the MGF Centre has much experience, but they are usually very enthusiastic to help.

If you do draw a blank, I'm sure we'll do our best to help you out :o)
Rob Bell

Rob, Many thanks indeed. IŽll try to get the replacement online. May I fail will for sure accept your offer.
Best
Mike
