MG MGF Technical - MGF Stereo - help ?? manuals ??

Hi, can anyone help, just bought a 96 MGF 1.8VVC - it has the factory fitted 'Rover' panasonic cassette/radio and a Panasonic 6 CD changer in the boot.

All works fine but can't work out how to change the CD that is playing from the stereo ! It plays CD one fine and you can scan through the tracks but I cant get it to change to CD two etc...

Does anyone have the manual or know the model number of the radio cassette ? or can anyone tell me how to swap the CD's as its a pain having to stop the car and put the next cd into position one in the auto changer to listen to it !

thanks

Don't you just press the "station preset" button i.e. "1" for cd1, "2" for cd2 etc ?
JohnP

I thought that but it doesnt do anything when you try that ? any other ideas ?

does yours look like any of this:

sorry mike. just dug mine out of the cupboard (have fitted a Kenwood radio/cd/mp3 unit) and it was a pioneer not a panasonic.
JohnP

Sorry Dieter, couldn't access the pic - can you send it to me as a jpg or something ?

I'm fairly sure the unit is what was fitted as standard in 1996 as it has Rover on the flap for the cassette player

No worries John ;0)

Bizarre.

The station presets (1 to 6) move the cd back and forward. Also, when the end of the 1st CD is reached, the next CD should start playing. Sounds like there may be a fault somewhere?

Sounds like a cable or equipment failure but ...

my pioneer 6-pack info sheet has a "pressing the clear button" section:

'If the power does not switch on or if the compact disk player does not operate when the button on the multi-Cd controller id pressed, or if the multi-cd controller display is incorrect, press this button on the player with the tip of a pencil to restore normal operation (this button is located inside the door'

sorry cannot upload a picture but the clear button is shown inside the 6-pack cartridge slot. Slide cover open to the left and button is inside in bottom right corner next to the magazine release. VERY VERY small.

What happens when you get to the end of CD1 at the moment?
Leigh

I'll try resetting it with the clear button, ,might work, at the moment when it reaches the end of the first cd it just goes back to the start of it again ( even though the repeat feature is not selected on the stereo ).

Its tipping down with rain and blowing a gale at the moment so I cant be bothered messing around with it ;0) My wife drives the car so she can manually change them over or play a tape until I find a proper solution.

Thanks all for your help so far.
