MG MGF Technical - MGF trailor pulling?
Having pulled a small motorcycle trailor with a Honda Goldwing for 20+ yrs in order to camp in comfort throughout Europe the lack of trailor on my MGF is cramping my style - can it be done? |

I think Mike Satur sells a tow bar for the F. |

John Never owned a 'Wing but have camped with a Triumph Sprint and wife and found the extra space in the F almost impossible to fill :-) Have never seen an F pulling a trailor (probably because of the positioning of the engine, suspension and sub-frames but often saw a BGT towing a small sailing dinghy several years ago. |

The manual expicitly states that towing should not be attempted. But that's really more of a challenge than a warning, isn't it? |

expicitly? |

Jeez I have to ask why. It's like towing a trailer with a Fireblade! |

There should be something buried in the archive about towing. I recall part of the story was was the tow bar has to be attached to the front subframe. Not sure if the 80% rule applies either with mid-engined cars. Chris |

80% rule? |
G.C |
"80% rule?" Ask anybody from the Carvan Club as it really applies more to them. Also applies MORE to people who have to tow heavy trailors with light tugs. Also applies to people who tow trailors behind GoldWings. Also applies MORE to people who tow trailors behind Fireblades (and they should be shot). |

80% rule The Maximum towed weight should not exceed 80% of the Maximum Kerb Weight of the towing vehicle. Of course, the Maximum towed weight must not exceed the recommended Maximum Towing Weight of the vehicle. |
