MG MGF Technical - MGR MGTF Lightweight Alloy Wheels

MGR produced some lightweight alloy wheels for the TF in black shortly before they went bust. I know theyre about 2.5kg lighter per wheel than the standard alloys. Just seen these on e bay - are they them? Or just black versions of the normal alloys?

4x TF160 spare wheels, IMHO.

These are the lightweight ones -

and these are the normal TF160 ones (notice the difference where the spokes meet the rims) -

Hi,

sounds like another confusion about *leightweight*

http://www.mgfcar.de/epc/658.htm
RRC002630PMA is original TF and that is what's shown at fleebay.
The 9.5kg are correct, measured myself.
Available in three colours, black ... PMA, Shadow chrome ..MBM, silver sparkle ..MNH.
:)

David,
do you have the p/n and app. weight for the Ultra Lightweight 16" Alloys ?
Was it RRC002040LEH ???
Dieter

Marc,
I noticed those wheels ! I'm not going to bid on them but they do look good. My "F" is anthracite so to my eye they would suit the car.
I can't justify the expense to "she who must be obeyed" sadly ...
J M Brown

Dieter,

Ian Stewart used to have a set and he weighed them in at 6.4Kg without any tyre or valve. I don't have a part number.
David Clelland

I believe that the ULWs are part number RRC110460LEH.

Ralph Gadsby

Yes I have a set of MGR ULW and they do weigh in at 6.4kg as above. I also bought mine off the ebay seller mentioned above.
Tony L

Tony,
Which tyres do you "wear" on the front & rear using the 16" alloys ?
Ta in advance
(those dark alloys are tempting me !)
J M Brown

Tony,
could you confirm what Ralph assumes with the p/n RRC1101460xxx for the ULW wheels ?
P/N is almost marked embossed on any of the spokes from inside.
Dieter

Dieter, RRC110460LEH is the multispoke lightweight, charcoal wheel (£ 178 excl. per piece, £10 cheaper than minilites)

cheers
david

The wheels pictured are 11-spoke TF standard alloys in anthracite. In fact, they appear near identical to those fitted to the TF Mk2 that came off the production line at the UK production launch on the 29th May!

ULW wheels look rather different... :o)

All I have to do now is find some 65mm centre caps!!!
