MG MGF Technical - MGTF upgrade answers please
I'm currently thinking of chopping in my vvc for a TF135. Do they really come without ABS. Saw a nice 135 in Royal Blue on a 52 plate. Is this a normal colour or part of the monogram scheme? Thanks in advance Andy MGF 666BJW |

Hi Andrew. I changed my old VVC MGF for a TF last year. Like you I initially intended getting a 135 (mainly due to price) but after taking one for a test drive I soon noticed its lower power output. I decided that if I bought the 135 I would soon miss that extra bit of power the VVC had, and I wouldn't be able to 'tweek' it for 3 years due to the warranty. Lucky timing played its part, my dealer had just had a pre-reged, delivery mile 160 delivered, in the exact spec & colour I wanted. The price was very good, as was the part-ex price I was offered, and as a result I am now the very proud owner on a Trophy blue TF160 Sprint. So my advise would be take a 135 & a 160 for a test drive before deciding. |

My TF135 came with ABS, depends upon the car as it is an optional extra. Steve. |

Thanks for your input guys. I think a testdrive is on the cards. I thought the 135 was the way to go because I don't have to worry about the VVC head. Andy |

I recently purchased a TF 160 but test drove the 135 first, although it was a good drive, the lack of power and no ABS as standard put me off, hence now the proud owner of a TF 160. |

Royal Blue is a lovely standard colour :o) The TF160 is probably worth going for for all the additional goodies you get as standard - including those impressive new brakes, 16" wheels and decent tyres on top of essentials like ABS :o) |
