MG MGF Technical - More interior lights
With the dark nights arriving, the interior lights do not come on with the opening of the drivers door - they do with the passenger door. Also, the warning noise does not sound when lights are left on and the door opened. I believe that this is probably a wiring fault and involving the earth. Does anyone know the simple answer to this before I go to the trouble of removing the interior door panel? |

Bulb gone obviously. You need to remove the triangle in the footwell and fiddle out the light. Did you hear the buzzer sound at any time before ? Could be the input from lights to the MFU. The red box MFU (multi function unit) has the buzzer inside and it's not the easies job to get it out from behind the fuse panel. http://www.mgfcar.de/MFU/index.htm Regards Dieter |

Any problems with the central door lock maybe??? If this is the case then you might need a new doorlock, or maybe second hand from 1 of the breakers. Log in as a member (free) and search the archives on this, there is also a test sequence somewhere. Johan |

The alarm system can be tested by following the procedure described below: 1. Ensure doors, bonnet and the boot lid are closed. 2. Sit in the driver’s seat and close the door. NOTE: The next three actions must be carried out within 2 seconds. 3. Depress the driver’s door sill button. 4. Switch the ignition on, off and on again. 5. Raise the driver’s doorsill button. If the test mode has been entered correctly, the horns will give a short beep and the engine immobilisation buzzer will sound. Opening either door, the bonnet or the boot lid, or operating the driver’s door sill button, will cause the alarm LED to illuminate for approximately one second. If the LED does not illuminate, there is a system fault. The volumetric sensor can also be tested while in test mode. To test the volumetric sensor, press the unlock button on the remote handset several times. The alarm LED will illuminate for approximately 1 second each time movement is detected in the vehicle. The test mode is cancelled by switching the ignition OFF. |

Hello There, I have had this exact problem with my F and it turned out that I had to have a new door latch fitted on the drivers side. Tell me, does your superlock work?? Dolly |
