MG MGF Technical - Mounting a CD autochanger
Mounting a CD autochanger The new owner of my MGF has bought a new JVC head unit and autochanger for the car, as the original Philips 082 autochanger seems to have died. Rather than fit the new autochanger in the boot where it can be a nuisance when lots of luggage space is required, I've suggested that it be fitted under or behind the passenger seat. If we attach the mounting brackets to the back panel behind the seat are we in danger of causing damage if we drill some holes in this back panel? I don't want to drill through the petrol tank! regards Martin Woods |

Fitted mine in the glovebox with loads of room to spare. Glovebox can be removed very easily and running cables from there is far easier than from the boot or behind a seat. You also get the added security of being able to lock it away. You cloud try Velcro to stick the brackets to the panel behind the seat. |

Bingo You can attach it with strong trim tape, but be aware that water flows this way if you leve the hood or rear screen down and it rains, the glove box is a better bet. |
