MG MGF Technical - MPi engine

I know of an engine that will be for sale soon. Along with gearbox etc.

Currently sitting in an Atom is a bog standard 1.8 MPi. Looking to move it on for a reasonable amount in a month or so.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

You haven't sold the VX have you Paul???! ;o)
Rob Bell

lol
No, just had a few "upgrades" and a RR session myself today. :-)
Putting out a conservative 160bhp with brakes to match. (Standard is 140bhp - which my blue one was)

Just need to find a track day now!!! :-)

The MPi engine is in an Atom at the VX specialist I visited. He has no interest in it and just wants to shift it. He's removing it and putting a 2.2 VX lump in to showcase his throttle bodies and the like (220bhp - same engine as mine. Eeek!)

Thought maybe someone here would be interested in it. I make no money before you ask!! ;o)

What kind of money is he after for it?

Got to see your VX monster since the 'upgrades' :o)
Rob Bell

He's after "Just the going rate, I don't need to make any profit out of it".

Sorry I can't be more specific.
I'll drop you his details offline if you're interested.

Might meet up at a LoT/MGoT day soon. More than welcome to come out with me. Scarily fast car that is so so easy to drive quickly. Makes any old driver (me) look pretty good. <grin>
Oh, and it's now red!

The chap you bought it from will probably have kittens to hear that Paul! ROFL

I actually have a K sitting in the garage awaiting a strip down - but it is missing quite a lot of bits and bobs, so it is rather tempting to buy another. What vintage is it, do we know?
Rob Bell

Go on Bob you know it makes sense!

All I know currently is that it's one of the first batches of Atoms built. Better men than I could work out the age from that. :)

I'll try and find some more out and let you know.

Sounds like it would be from around 2000/2001, so probably one of the last 118bhp K engines. Ariel started fitting Honda powerplants in 2002 IIRC.
