MG MGF Technical - MS Hood Storm Cover & Screen Saver
Guys, has anyone used Mike Satur's Hood Storm Cover (the black one) and/or Rear Screen Saver? Can anyone comment on their usefulness and longevity? In other words, does the nylon rip, fray or stretch easily, or is it pretty tough? Is the screen saver machine washable? I know Mike's stuff is usually pretty good and reliable but it's hard to tell just by looking at the pictures on his web site. Any comments would be appreciated. Ta. Phil

Phil I have been using Mike's storm cover (Hood Mate) for about 3 years. It is one of the best investments I have made for the car. It is waterproof, doesn't rip or stretch and does an excellent job of protecting the roof. In time the elastic hoops that fit over the mirrors may stretch and need replacing, but if they do its a simple job. I intend to get the Sun Mate for the TF as it will do all that the Hood Mate does and protect the walnut cowl and console from fading in the sun. Can't comment on the 'screen saver'. Cheers Mike

I have used both the Hood Mate and the Screen Saver and I can highly recomend them both. I don't think the Screen Saver is machine washable but all you need to do is wipe it down. Rgds Angela

Mike and Angela, Many thanks for the info. I think I'll place an order for both. Phil

Michael I have the same problem with my hoodmate (which is great by the way Phil, esp. if like me your F lives outside) with the elastic hoops and found that folding them together near the hood and stitching (or stapling?) them "shortens" them again.

I have the MS sunmate, and it's great. Protects the whole roof and cools the car in any season....
