MG MGF Technical - need brakes

my brakes have started to wear out. are kevlar pads a good replacement. do they improve braking.... i think the F has crap brakes!!!!
ps
DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR REPAIRED BY THE MGF CENTRE . HAD A HGF REPAIRED BY THEM . IT CAME BACK A WEEK LATER COVERD IN SCRATCHES WITH A MISSING CAT AND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD LOOSE.... COWBOYS CASHING IN...
alex

Kevlar on the back on mine. No problems. How did you manage to drive back with a cat missing then dipstick?

Good spot Duncs

I wouldn't have left the yard with a missing cat and loose manifold.

Sounds like somebody laying the seeds for a compensation claim ...
John Ponting

Alex, regarding brakes, yes, you can get a good improvement from changing the pads from a standard material to ones with a harder material.

The options include EBC and Mintex - the latter are the better option particularly if you are considering some harder driving on a circuit (track day etc).

Regarding the MGF Centre, I would suggest that you have a chat - if you haven't already - with Bill who looks after the mechanical side there.
Rob Bell

the cat was replaced by a bypass tube... the chap told me he could not get the car to run properly after the head gasket was changed..... what!! these people are ment to be experts....... the manifold worked its way loose after a week......... rude staff and attitude.. made me drive the car away... mom was dying in hospital at the time...could not be ar*ed to argue.....
ask questions before passing judgment...
why put up with this... shoddy garages make me sick..
alex

Sorry to hear about your mother Alex - a hugely stressful time for you and your family. You certainly have my full sympathies. :o(

I obviously can not comment on the work that you've had done - nothing to do with me - but I would suggest direct dialogue if possible and Bill is the guy to talk to. Best of luck with it. I hope that you have got/ can get the problem(s) sorted soon. I think you need a healthy MG right now!
Rob Bell

Many Thanx Rob
The MG is running fine just found cheap cat on ebay... for MOT . got to sort big scratch out on rear wing but it can be repaired...gone back to my normal garage...should have done that in the first place.
still with all these problems.. i still love my F... brakes will have to wait bit pricey..
