MG MGF Technical - New carpets

Hi all,

Carpets in the F now looking rather tatty, so have purchased new ones. as ever questions:

1. Is removing/replacing the seats easy?

2. Do I need any specialist knowledge, skill or tools to complete the carpet change?

As ever many tahnks

You will need to dic-connect the battery and leave it for 20 minutes to disarm the SRS before disconnecting the wires under the seats.

Also you will need a 'TORX' driver (T50 I think) to remove the 4 seat bolts per seat. The bolts will probably start to turn easily enough but get stiffer as the exposed (under the floorpan and consequently rusted) end of the bolts enters the threaded section of their captive nuts. WD40 may be your friend....It may also help if they start to get really stiff, as when tapping a new thread, to wind the bolt back in a couple of threads before it galls and seizes up.
How is the F being received in Italy?
Charless

Geoff & Charless,

Thank you for the advice.

Lots of top down motoring here even at this time of year (Southern Italy), and some interesting coastlines to explore. Italian driving habits a challenge!

Italians like her probabley because she is red!

Amalfi coast road probably the biggest challenge I found! Good Luck!

That's the one!
