MG MGF Technical - Oil Filler bracket
Great day at Gaydon, sorry could not stay for the world record attempt late this afternoon. On way home big rattle from engine I have discovered that the bracket that holds the dipstick assesmby to the car has sheared in half. Any suggestions as to where to source a new one from? I need this done by Silverstone on Thursday!! |

MG Rover parts dealer, they're still available and not very expensive. |

Mine fell out of the plenum. Fixed it back with some epoxy resin. Some detail in the running report: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/group1/info/journal/index.htm#June%202003 |

Some years ago my filler tube sheared off at the bracket. I booked it into the dealer for it to be replaced, but they hadn't ordered the part, and then found that they couldn't get one for several days. They ended up having to take the tube off the car that they had in the show room. See you Thursday! Ralph |

Chris, Try the MGF Centre - got mine (2nd hand) from there - much more reasonably priced. :-) Tony |

Thanks all My local garage are going to repair (weld?) the current one as local Rover dealers have none in stock although they can probably get one for next week sometime! |

Happend to me as well. All I did to fix it was: Remove it (held on by 2 bolts) Used a hobby welder to weld it together. Sprayed it black. Put it back on. All fixed. Had a Guinness or two after that, admiring the result. Total cost: a few dollars for the black ale. HTH. Cheers, Branko. |
