MG MGF Technical - Passenger Airbag blanking plate
Hi, Since there was a let up in the rain, I thought that I'd fit my new speakers today. Have removed the glove box to find a place to mount the crossover for the speakers I decided, somewhat foolishly to remove the airbag blanking plate, just to have a look what was behind it ! The problem that I now how is how to fix this back in. I have tried a few times before darkness defeated me!!! I look in the archieves and there are a few articles about how to remove the blank, but no-one says how to put it back using the original spring clips...... Suggestions and help please Paul; |

Isn't it just a simple case of aligning everything up and pushing (reasonably hard) back into place Paul? |

that was how I did it |

The airbag blanking plast is a major source of squeaks in the dash, Whilst you have it out might be worth wedging in some felt. I did this a while ago and it works a treat. |

The other bit that I didn't mention was that I can't remember where the top spring clips go or how they were attached. Paul |

Is there room behind this plate to put a cubby hole like on the Rover 25. If so, what about some entrepreneur designing one using vaccuum moulding technology David |

Nope, There is a big tube-like brace that seems to run across thw width of the car. So there does not seem to be enough usable space..... Paul; |
