MG MGF Technical - PCD

Is the PCD on the MGF the same for all models, also is the PCD the same as the Vectra, as there's a picture with a Vectra with a set of alloys that the ower claims to of come of a MGF on Ebay (set of 17"). the PCD being 4 X 95.25. Also would these fit a montego?

Thanks for any light anyone could shed on this
Matt

PCD is the same for all MGFs. No, it's NOT the same as a Vectra. It is the same as all Montegos, all Maestros except vans, and some Metros (Not Rover 100 series IIRC). It is 3.75 inches which is 95.25mm as near as dammit. My worry would be that the seller has modified or forced them to fit a Vectra (which may have a similar PCD) and there may be consequential damage. Of course, he might have done the job properly and used adapter plates which allow changes in PCD. HTH

Matt, the wheels on the Vectra use a 100mm PCD. Most vehicles with 4-stud wheels use this spacing - and as a result, most aftermarket wheels are cast/ machined with the 100mm PCD.

A couple of years ago, Mike Satur realised that there was a gap in the market - people wanted more choice of wheel styles, and use larger than OE 16"s. To get over the problem of the MGF using a 95.25mm PCD, he had manufactured a PCD adapter to allow wheels with a 100mm PCD to fit to the MGF.

Bringing this long story to a close, I think that this is where the confusion has arisen: the 17"s on the Vectra way well have come from an MGF - but the MGF that they were fitted to would have used a set of Mike's PCD adapters.

To fit these eBay wheels to your car, you'll need the adapters. If you're lucky, the vendor will have them to give you if you are successful in your bid. Failing that, you'll need to buy a new set from Mike (http://www.mikesatur.co.uk/)

Hope this helps!

Matt,

I take it that the wheels you are referring to are the Miglia 17s? If so, the seller actually says the ones on the vectra aren't the ones he's selling, the pic is just there to give you an impression of what they look like on the car:

"THE CAR SHOWN IS FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY- IT IS NOT THE CAR THEY WERE ON"

Hope this helps...

Mike

Mike
