MG MGF Technical - Pedals

I would like some shiny foot pedals fitted to the F. I know that MS do some but if I wanted to fit it this weekend I was thinking of Halfords.

Has anyone any experience in doing this, do I need to drill the pedals?

Halfruads Yuk! are far from MGF centre not sure where you are without looking at map, Victoria has some alloy ones with MGF on them and they slide on about £40 i think but nice, i have Mike Satur ones and they bolt on ,no drilling on either, why not ring MGF centre 01902 403045 and get them posted/ just a thought , Dave.

I have Sparco pedals(from Halfords!!) which are excellent for grip and heel and toe use...but were a bugger to fit, needing holes to be drilled through existing pedal. These are VERY hard steel, and you will need sharp, new drill to do this, if that's what you want.
Blue Max

I bought similar ones to Blue Max - I paid £20 for the pedals and ended up paying £20 to have them fitted - It was just too hard to drill.
They looked great though.

I have Mike's new octagonal pedals on my TF. They slide over the existing ones and are clamped on with grub screws. Look really good and work very well.

Recently did this upgrade, from what I understand slide on pedals are now illegal, so you need to drill regardless. The problem is mounting the pedals so you only drill through the plate and not the thick mounting bracket. I got a set of brushed Alu sparco pedals that had the mounting screws in just the right place (£20 and 45mins to fit)

Speculatively - can anybody in the business advise on the legallity of slide on pedal covers?
John Ponting

Don't know about legality, but I chose the Sparco ones just because they had to be drilled and screwed - I wouldn't fancy having a pedal start to slip under heavy braking for instance. As good as the "slide on's" may be there must always be a chance of them "sliding off",without a postive fixing to lock everything together,IMO
Blue Max

I understand your position Bob but most cars that I've driven over the past 39 years have had slide on rubber covers on the pedals. So far, touching my head for luck, I've never had one slide off; I have, however, had experiences of wet shoe soles sliding off metal pedals - this keps your driving honest!
