MG MGF Technical - power steering light

the wife has just told me that that none of the dials are working and the power steering light is on. does anyone have any ideas.. my car is a 98 vvc

The speedo cable has snapped - the short cable coming out of the gearbox.

Fortunately it is an easy fix: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/DIY/Speedo_cable/index.htm
