That's the normal RRP.

You sometimes see them for sale on this BBS at around £50, and ebay occasionally.

However - it is well worth the money!!!

and they don't wear, try asking on the Elise board for a second hand one, they seem to be going thru a transfer to enclosed boxes right now

I got my K&N from www.dcdezign.com
The guy was very helpfull & I had my kit within 72hrs.

Quicklink to the exact page you need is http://www.dcdezign.com/aspitems.asp?model_no=knfilters.asp&product=K%26N%20Induction%20%20Kits

Also, only £79.91.

Some of the larger Halfords stores sell K&N filters, amongst all their "performance" kit. I don't know if they stock the model suitable for an F, but it might be worth giving them a call - you might be able to save the delivery charge and get it sooner.

They should be fitting Rover 820 airboxes - and saving 300 quid LOL!

I'm just waiting for you to say that on SELOC.... :o)

Paul,

I've got one going spare, without induction tubing (which is pretty cheap to buy) you can have for £30 plus p&p

let me know via email

LOL - I'm just waiting for the right moment Tim ;o)

Looks as though there are some vested interests there though; people are making money from marketing these kits, so may not be best pleased to read about a kit of DIY parts that costs 30 quid and is nearly as effective!!! ;o)

Thanks for all your help.

Sorry for another question but do you know if i the K&N filter for the MG derivies it power incress for the cone and postion alone or is the pipe a critical part of the filter. IE can i get a Replacment pipe for the second hand K&N from rob wihtout effecting performace too badly

Thanks

Paul, you'll need a spacer pipe between the cone filter and the throttle body (4-6" should be fine) - this is to allow the airflow to stabilise before hitting the throttle butterfly. This might be one of the parts that Rob is offering to sell you - is it Rob?

The other thing you'll need is a cold air supply. Either use a couple of ducts from under the car (a la 57i) or make your own airbox assembly (similar to the Rover820 mod). The latter option is probably the best, IMO.

A suitable length of silicone tube (70mm internal diameter) can be bought cheaply to connect the filter to the TB, and then you need some flexible duct (internal diameter again about 70mm) to run from the airbox to the nearside airvent. Total 'kit' cost somewhere in the region of 60 quid including filter. :o) http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/airbox_pix/airbox_pages/airbox.htm

As suspected Mr Bell......spacer pipe included! Just no ducting.
