MG MGF Technical - Radiator Plug Thread Stripped!!!
Nice steel plug screwed into plastic!!sound piece of engineering!!! mine has stripped the thread any repair ideas? please, or would a new rad. be the answer? It would probably make good sense in the long run. Andy |

Sounds like someone has bodged it already if it is an original radiator, as the plug is normally plastic and causes problems when it breaks. Originals are same thread as spark plugs. If the thread is stripped on the rad then only options would be to replace the rad, or try tapping a new thread into the plastic. |

had this problem when replaced ran and done head gasket if you remove rad you can unclip the plastic end from the rad get a brass nut and bolt and chemical metal the nut on the inside refit end by squeezing metal ends over (you will see this when you strip it }replace rad check for leaks and you are done i did thid six months ago and not had a problrm since and brass should not give you any issues hope this helps richard |

With brand new radiators costing 45 quid why buy a used one? |
