MG MGF Technical - Radio Code
My 99 F blew a fuse which controls interior lights, boot and bonnet lamps, clock and radio. Replaced fuse and all is well. Except the radio will not accept the code and the delay is doubling up. It is a standard Rover radio. What can I do? Help much appreciated. Tony H |

I suggest that you find a friendly independant car accessory shop and ask their advice. They may know of someone in your area who can help with finding the code. These people exist and do it for legit reasons such as lost code when transferring ownership of vehicle etc. It takes minutes to actually get the code! Good luck Bruce |

Try the MGR dealer, they can look it up on their database and supply the code. Hopefully it will not be the same as the one you are trying to enter. Steve. |

Some MGR dealers will give you the code for free, some will charge. Take your V5 and some photo ID in case they ask for it. Note this fuse is a common failure point, purple wire, usually in the boot hinge wears thru and rubs blowing the fuse (search the archives for purple wire for more info) Will |

Thank you all for your help. The fault was traced to the engine bay lamp. MGR dealer being very helpful so far. Thanks Tony H |

Update Thank you all for the input. My car is four years old and I have owned it for one year. My MGR dealer (Windsors of Wallasey) removed the radio, read the serial number and the box of tricks gave it a completely new code. They refitted and coded it and charged me NOTHING at all. Great service from them and thanks again to all other Fers. Tony H |
