Got my car back today after having had a new down-pipe on the exhaust fitted (warranty) the sound as described previously has now gone. No more VW Beetle impersonations when accelerating through 3,000 rpm. :)

Mine is booked for early Feb so will keep you posted as well (except that the funny sound on my car appears when getting through the revs...).

Stephane

Thx Paul ... interestingly mine started when I had the MS downpipe fitted ...

Gaz,

Perhaps it's not a fault with the down-pipe itself in your case but a leak via a gasket? I would imagine that it's possible this would give the same result.

My Trophy has the same noise - I'll get the dealer to look at this when its in for a service in a couple of weeks. Could be a gasket leak as it seems to quieten down once its really warmed up i.e. when everything has expanded.
Terry

The noise I had was present regardless of temprature, but then the dealer did say they found a fault with the down pipe and hence replaced it curing the problem. Stands to reason that in your case it could well be a gasket Terry.
