MG MGF Technical - Re-rated fuel pressure regulars

As mentioned on the other thread on fuel regulators started by Will, I had an email from Mat whilst I was away on the Treffen regarding the re-rated standard fuel pressure regulars I asked him to prepare. He's now had a batch re-rated to 3.2-3.3 bar - which are now ready :o) cool!

His email as below:
>>
Pressure Regulators will be ready for dispatch on Monday. Calibrated to 3.3 bar (standard +10%) price is £45 including P+P.

I have Matt's contact details for anyone how is interested - I'll be dropping Matt a line for mine later today! :o)
Rob Bell

Just checked with Mat - best contact him directly for these :o)

Regarding fitting - apparently the existing regulator is a bugger to remove, but the new one a doddle to fit...
Rob Bell

I take it this wont have any effect on HP or Torque but simply better throttle response?
Bob Millar

That's basically it Bob :o)
Rob Bell

Certainly a good deal cheaper than an FSE. Hmmm decisions decisions!

The early bird... :)

Just sent an email to Mat.

Rob, thank you for the support !!

No problem Dieter :o) Hopefully will be getting mine soon too :o)

Gents,

could anybody PLS explain the theory behind the 3.3 bar fuel pressure regulators ?

Do you expect better throttle response by running richer during accel and lambda open loop ?

A plus of 10% is quite a lot. It should give you approx. 3% more fuel mass which could have also a negative effect on peak torque and power (depending on the original cal)

Kind regards

Michael

Meikell

@ Michael, this is optimum for VVC.
I don't think it will do much on an MPI.

Lots of stuff in the achives and on the german site of Nikolaij Klingemann.

However, much cheaper then the adjustable PBV ;) ..... and it doesn't hurt (but the account).

I'll report for sure to the MGF Technik Forum !

@ Mat, got the email, but have some problems with answering (damn Microsoft crap).
