MG MGF Technical - Rear Plastic Window - Reconditioning

I've got some plastic screen reconditioning polish coming by post tomorrow. Hopefully this will remedy the slightly murky view I am experiencing - or it might be snake oil! I'll let the group know in due course. Anyone going to say it'll ruin it - before I start work?

Not heard of the stuff before but I don't doubt it exists. When I had this problem before the recommendation I was given was toothpaste and it worked great. It's a subject that has come up many times before on the BBS and a trawl in the archives should give other thoughts.

If what you get is Greygate polish it is a well known and trusted solution

Swarfega is also good and much easier on the elbows than Greygate.

I'm using Renovo for some years now and find it the best product so far, since I'm using it to clean and to make my plastic window transparent for my MGB and MGTF.

It arrived and is Greygate. It is way too cold to give it a go outside. The release zip is stuck preventing screen removal for application "indoors". Best wait a few days methinks.

Releasing the catches of the hood often assists the unzipping of the rear window, but yes you are indeed wise to not start manhandling the plastic screen in frosty weather...

I believe the RAF trust Greygate polish to keep the canopies & screens of their eye-wateringly expensive aircraft in tip-top condition, and I don't think it would take too many pilots excusing a large pile of wreckage they've just ejected from with "I couldn't see properly, sir" for them to review that ;o)

Another alternative to Greygate (which is really good) is Autoglym Super Resin polish. It is a lot cheaper than Greygate and can be used on the paintwork.
