MG MGF Technical - Rear Window Switch.
I'm looking to have a hardtop for the winter. the cable for the heated rear window is already in place. Do I just need to purchase a switch or a switch and relay inclusive? Dave. |

Dave, I just did this a while ago too. I had to buy both the switch and the relay. There are two different types. I got mine from MGR dealer and only cost me about £10 in total. Not too difficult to fit - just a bit awkward to get the switch in I found. Hope this helps. Greg |

Greg, I have a '99 where do you fit the relay? dave |

Dave - I have a 52 TF, and I had to put the relay into the fuse panel under the dash. Bit of a tight squeeze to get my hand in! It was with all the other relays in the far right side. Something like slot 23 (not sure) will let you know later when I get home and have a quick look if you like. Greg |

The units for the F are different to those for the TF; the TF has at least 2 versions to itself. The switch & relay positions are also different between F & TF. The workshop manual should show where they go. |
