MG MGF Technical - Replacement key fob / remote
I’ve just purchased a late model TF, the only issue is it only came with 1 remote key fob, it’s the Pektron 2 button type. I’d like to buy another one and I believe the system needs to be programmed to accept it, can anyone suggest a supplier preferably in the southeast. Bob |

I hear the prices MG Rover dealers are charging for supplying & coding a keyfob are less eye-watering than they used to be, so it might be useful to get a price from them to compare with any local keyfob specialists. A dealer has access to the database of EKA (Emergency Key Access) codes, which is a useful code to have in case the keyfob ever plays up, and whilst the code can be purchased online you might be able to persuade a dealer to throw that in free. Or it may be that the plastic card showing the code is still in the instruction manual wallet, not everyone takes them out and loses them... |

I have the same problem with my MGF today and does anyone know how to bypass it even without the remote? |

The key can be used in the driver's door lock to dis-arm the immobiliser by entering the EKA code, but there is no 'bypass' of either the alarm or the immobiliser. |

I am out in Hong Kong and will try the local dealer but if they haven't got the EKA (not many Rover in HK and the dealer here aren't very active) how can I get hold of the delaer in UK. Can someone kiond enough to give me their telephone number or e-mail address for the enquiries? |
