MG MGF Technical - Satur Glass Windbreak
OK I'm almost embarrassed to put this under "Technical", however here goes Just bought the Mike Satur Glass Windbreak, rushed home from work and went at it without thinking about it......... The 3 T bar studs/screws are knackered, one has sheared completely, the other 2 cross heads are damaged, hence I can't tighten them up. This isn't a problem, I'll pop to a Rover dealers tomorrow and buy some new ones. It does raise a couple of questions tho, how tight should the screen be? should there be any "play" in the adjusters? these look a bit flimsy, and I'm a bit worried about overtightening them. A bit of reassurance required please. |

I have the same setup... I have mine just tight enough so the glass screen doesnt wobble about but you can easily raise or lower it with a little light pressure.... Had it a year now with no problems...to be honest I never lower the glass screen...well only for cleaning etc STU Wokingham |

So, do you think is mike satur windbreack a good thing to buy? how much does it cost? |
cnerone |
It is good and can be used with the Boxer Hoops as well, easy to fit and costs about £100. Have a look at www.mikesatur.co.uk. |

It looks the best out of all the windstoppers out there. And I think that matters a lot. And it does work, even though not as well as the MG originals or Newton Commercials. Go for Mike's. |

MG rover and Newton Commercial windstops are better than mike satur? in what way? there is more wind? there is more noise? |
cnerone |
Less wind, but not as good looking(thru) |

In other words, Mike Satur one looks fantastic, but doesn't block wind as well as MG / NC windstops. But MS one are still very effective. I would go for MS one as it's the cheapest one as well. |

had my m.s wind break as long as i had the tf, about 9 month's,does it let more wind in than the rover one? who cares never been in a car with the rover one,the ms one looks far better than the, follow them down the road & see for your self,ms looks almost invisible rover looks like it as a black blob on the back, it looses the sports car look ........ |

I had a Newton one before i fitted the glass ms one with the rollhoops..I agree the mesh ones do seem to block out a little more wind but only a little.. and the visibility through them with the soft top up at night was very poor,, the glass one is great......no problems.. Stu Wokingham |

I've got the taller MS glass one (about 50mm of a difference)and to be honest I don't notice any performance loss between it and my old NC one. However, rear vision is much better and it also lets everyone see my new chrome boxer hoops. |

I've installed the MS windstop together with the MK2 hoops but I can't seem to fasten the screws of the hinges tight enough, so the glass of the windstop constantly bounces to the rear of the hoops giving a annoying clicking sound, anyone having the same experience and or solutions. yep I had the same problem with the glass screen moving. Apparently the fixings are torqued at MS to allow you to alter the angle of the glass, however if it does work loose (it shouldn't) just slacken off the dome lock nuts, pinch up the allen key screws and retighten the locknuts.......worked for me |

Thanks, I thought it should be possible in any way but I only tried to tighten the allenkey screws without untighten the locknuts! So will to solve it tonight. Cheers, Marten |
