MG MGF Technical - School boy error
Decided to head out early Sunday to enjoy the good sun at the beginning of the day. Girlfriend grabs keys and goes outside telling me she's going to put the roof down. After about 20 seconds I remember it's been quite cold all night and run screaming from the house only to find girlfriend standing there, face cupped in hands and 6 inch split in rear screen. I (actually she) don't fancy splashing out £240 on a new screen so can anyone suggest any patches, or can you buy secondhand ones from breakers. Are they easy to fit? Cheers. |

Are you far from Croydon? Look on http://www.softtopwindows.co.uk where you can get a new screen fitted while you (or girlfriend) wait for about £150 or £90 if you do it yourself. Easy to fit? the site has full instructions for you to decide if she can do it properly |

Dude! Great advice - I have no skills at all with a drill or any type of DIY instrument so the latter option of paying for the replacement looks like a winner... good price too. Thanks a bunch... J |

Or, as an alternative have a word with MGF Centre for a reconditioned window.. Dead easy to install just drill out 8 pop rivets along the bottom edge and rivet a new window and surround back in. The only thing you need to konw is if you have a MK1 or MK2 hood (they have different zips) Tim |

And as a temporary patch use greenhouse tape, available from your local B&Q, Homebase, etc. Ralph |
