MG MGF Technical - Seat Belt

Shane
Can anyone tell me the part number for the seat belt receiver on the MGF 96' model.

It's the part the belt clicks into.

Thanks.
Shane

Well i guess i just have one of those threads no-ones gonna reply to...
I got a quote for euro 95 to replace it...
I think this is a bit steep though?

Obviously not something others have had go wrong! Do remember that the 'receiver' is also the auto-tensioner so care must be used in changing this unit, so €95.00 or £63.00 sounds reasonable.

probably of no help whatsoever, however my drivers seat belt holder has just failed and a non rover seat belt - complete is £29.50 plus VAT

Unsure now whether to get a Rover part or non rover.
emma

Emma, the non-Rover part mioght not have the pyro-set belt tensioner which is essential for the SRS,. If it has then you have got a bargain at £29.50, let me know the supplier!
Shane, don't know the part number(Dieter?) but I do have some in stock, presumably yours is a LHD car?

May be the belt itself with the upper roll mechanic at Emmas car ? That is not unique if the belt key fits to the seat belt slot.

I'm soory , no idea about the tensioner with catch part numbers. I recall they are different between right seat and left seat (mirrored) but there is no difference betwen LHD and RHD cars. About 90 quid for one new, mentioned the guy who bouht my second hand the other day.

Mike,
Mines a right hand drive.
If I ordered the part could I fit it myself?
Do I need any specialist tools?

Not quite mate, i am on my 3rd one! Basiclly the inner working disintegrate and you are left with a seatbelt clip that is cunningly spring loaded and ejects the clip every time you try to fasten it.

Mike Satur has seen a few of these as well (i had a little chat about it to him on 'Le Long Weekend') so it is a general thing as opposed to a 'one off'.

Shane,

There are full instructions on removing the seat (which is needed to replace the seatbelt clip) on the MGF FAQ...

I've had to replace this too. Including labour and VAT at a dealer, I think it was about £100. I thought it was a bit steep too!

Diggers.

My remark:- >> Obviously not something others have had go wrong! << was based on the fact that no one had replied to the question NOT my experience. A normal responce time is like 6 minutes and a time delay is like 6 hours but this one took 6 days!

Ted... ahhh.. but look at it now...
