MG MGF Technical - Sigma Alarm Question

(OK I have posted this before, and it's not strictly an "F" issue.....but yesterday the damned thing kept going off for no apparent reason.....)

I drive a 1996 VVC, which has the standard 3TXA blipper, plus a Sigma rectangular blipper. This seems to be an alarm/immob also with passive immob. arming, as it goes off if you open the door when it's set as well as passively immobilising the engine.

The keyring blipper seems to ne completely sealed, with no way of replacing batteries, and now only one of the 2 supplied works. And as it is 'misbehaving' wtf do I do if this one ceases to operate? (get a TF?....nope, rhetorical question)

Just thought someone might have an idea, as to date the BBS has helped me:-

Diagnose HGF
Replace leaking coolant hose & cap (see above)
Mk 3 window stops
Sort the tracking!
Source a wiper motor for £50 and fit it.

Any thoughts?

It's a Sigma SG30............

sorry.. the keyring blipper.. - is that the standard 3TXA blipper or the Sigma rectangular blipper??

Sigma!

The Sigma SG30 is if installed by an approved fitter a aathatchem cat 1 system.
It came/comes with 2 radio keys which have a 5 year life span, these are sealed units.
A few years ago I bought a new pair for £30 from the fitting dealer.

If you have problems these alarms were/are fitted by various maindealers and generally audio/ICE shops.

Sigma are made by Secure Microsystems Limited.

I have the full spec and brouchers on many Sigma systems.

Thank you.
I have now done a quick serach, and found a shop nearby which can supply/programme a new blipper!
(God I must seem thick!)
Thanks again

Glad you are getting it sorted, you don't want one of those bouncy bouncy TF things.
