MG MGF Technical - some question ??
Hello, How will I clean the Evaporative emission cannister ? If I want to replace or repair it , How will I do ? Where will I buy Evaporative emission cannister unit ? Where will I buy aluminum manifold (no including Injector etc.)? |

>>Evaporative emission cannister Do you mean the exhaust system? If so, fine metal polish should do the trick. You may get some help from the Hong Kong MG Car Club, here is their url. http://www.mgcchk.org/ |

As far as I know the canister you refer to does not require cleaning and does not "wear out". The charcoal absorbs petrol vapor breathed by the fuel tank and captures it until the throttle is open and the car running well, then the ecu opens a valve into the inlet manifold to suck the petrol out and purge the canister fresh for reuse. because they do not "wear out", if you need a replacement you may find a breaker can offer you one at quite a low cost. Equally the aluminium inlet manifold can be sourced from a breaker (VVC spec cars) as it does not wear out either. According to DVA the plastic manifold can easily have any flashing removed and will flow more air like this than the unchanged alu manifold. |
