MG MGF Technical - SOS site, new gallery online :-)

Just a bit of an advert (sorry guys!) :-)

There is a new gallery online now on the SOS site, this details the refitting of the hub, brake disc, caliper, and road wheel (it also covers the Hydragas pump).

Worth a look IMO. :-)

Don't know if it's been suggested already..........but.............have you thought of putting the ssforever site onto a CDROM?

A 'Haynes' manual for the 'F' nearly.

Gets my vote!

That sounds like a great idea Charlie. I'd buy one, and if it were needed it could help raise any necessary funds for Scarlet too.

Hmmm, now there's an idea...

Only problem i can see is why would anyone pay for a CD ROM (even if it is only pennies), when they can view it for free on the web? Still, not a bad idea though.

Plans for the SOS site (once the rebuild is finished) are for me to take over the webspace from Stefan, combine it with 'Scarlet's Web' (which well overdue for an update) and re-index the galleries to make it a lot easier to find specific jobs. In this state, it could well be downloaded and saved on a CD ROM, probably with higher res images too (for every image on the web, there are three on my hard drive - the thumbnail (110x93 pixels), the graphic (284x239 pixels) and the high res original camera image (1024x sorry, can't remember!))

1/-Because it would be 'instantaneous'.

2/-Because you could set it up on a lap-top or old pc in the garage.

3/-Because you wont need a telephone line.

4/-Because when you get fed up with it you can use it as a bird scarer in the garden.

5/-I am sure there are other reasons that I can not think of at the moment.

6/ makes an excellent drinks coaster...

Seriously though, I think that Ted has a point. I've been thinking about putting an old pentium computer in my garage for similar reasons to those mentioned by Ted...

Hmmm, well it certainly is very feasible. I'll see if i can knock up a prototype of two. :-)
