MG MGF Technical - Spark plug preferences
Further to comments made regarding spark plugs on the Fuel Tank thread. I recently had the insulator break on a new Champion N9y spark plug and as a result changed to NGK Plugs. What are others preferences on Spark plugs and why? Robert |

I use NGK - but only because these are OEM and have proven to be very reliable in my experience. Why fix what's not broken? |

I also use NGK,my present ones are NGK Platinum laser (Premium) these plugs give improved starting, acceleration and idle stability, as well as better fuel economy and lower exhaust emissions, Dave |

NGK for me too, but this time the Iridium ones. I seam to be getting the same improvements as David. I have left the gap as supplied and have had no problems at all. The car lives outside in Scotland, so is both damp and cold even so starting is first turn every time. :-D |

Hi guys Could you give me the catalog number for the NGK spark plugs that you are using now, on the NGK web site they are saying that the PFR7B is done for the MGF VVC 145. thanks again for your help best regards pascandrea |

I don't know how much the platinum plugs are on a VVC but I hope they are cheaper than the ones for my 9-5 - £10 each and every 12k :( |

The Iridium plug part number is BKR6EIX-11 |
