MG MGF Technical - Sqeaky noise from rear
Help When turning left or right while doing 20 MPH or over a noise has started to appear from the rear of the car. A squeaky squealing noise that disappears when I come out of the turn. Car is a 'P' reg 1.8i with around 36K on the clock. Any ideas ?

This sounds like a sound I got on my '98 VVC. To me it sounded not that far from a bird chirping! I never did pin it down, but got rid of it by buying a TF. Hmmm, not a lot of help really am I? =-s

David Is it related to road wheel speed? If so check the rear brake pads for wear. Quick and easy to check even to just rule them out. Cheers Russ

I get a similar noise riding over bumps - but I need the roof down to hear it. I think, in my case, it is the sound of the braided hoses, and I'm going to ask Techspeed to look into it. How loud is the noise David? I wonder if it may be the damper mounts?

similar thread: squeeky suspension? I also had a squeak from the rear. Found I could replicate it with the car parked, and gently pushing down, on each corner of the car. A bit of WD40, tightened up the nuts, and it went away.

Thanks for the feedback. The noise only happens when turning a corner. If I go slowly then it does not appear but when the corner or bend is taken at speed (20/25 MPH or above) the noise always appears.
