MG MGF Technical - Squeek drivers side rear.
Maybe somebody can help... I have an annoying squeak coming from my drivers side rear suspension. About 2 years ago Mr. Mike fitted a set of Spax adjustable all round. The rear is set to about 10 or 12 clicks. The squeak sounds very hi-pitched when you are driving. When you push the rear of the car up and down by hand you get the same noise but no where near as hi-pitched. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks, Andrew. |

Oh, Mike also replaced the rear tie bar bushes with polyurethane ones. Could they be squeaking? |

Could be the bushes in the top arm are seizing! After a while they start to wear grooves in the pivot pin no matter how regularly they get greased. Replacement kits with pivot pin, end caps, bearings etc are around £40 from most places, or £11 from Mini Spares Centre! Al |

Andrew, Have a close look at the suspension turrets the welds could/can pull away from the body and create that squeak. Go to www.mgf.ultimatemg.com Chamber of horrors and see what could be the source of your squeak. |

Hi Andrew, I have had a good look around the suspension turrets and cannot see anything obvious. To me it sounds very like plastic or rubber rubbing. Alan what is involved with top arm bushes? As the car has just been serviced I would have thought something like that would have been noticed??? Thanks, Andrew. |
