Kind Regards

Same here for my 2001 Trophy, by times the squeking noise is so loud and crisp that I would like to take the hands of the wheel and plug some fingers in my ears.

I have this problem too, 2001 Trophy. Real nasty squeek although not all the time..? Bought some brake cleaning spray from halfords but havn't had the chance to try it yet.

Thinking about getting new pads all round, perhaps green stuff, less brake dust?

>Bought some brake cleaning spray from halfords but havn't had the chance to try it yet.

you might also want to get some copper grese and coat the _back!_ of the pads.
Will Munns

Thanks Will, is this a common solution for such problems ?
T

yep, it's even written on tub(e)s of copper grease
Will Munns

Sorry for being ignorant, I just want to make sure. You want us to put copper grease on the surface of the pad , the side which lies on the caliper ? Correct ?
T

I have a 2001 Trophy and have had no squealing probs whatsoever!!! As Will has said maybe you need to remove the pads clean them and the calipers and apply some copper grease to the back of the pads. A light smear on each piston might help too.

>You want us to put copper grease on the surface of the pad ,

I wouldn't use that phrase, the backing of the pad (people use the word surface as "friction surface" or "brakeing surface")

>the side which lies on the caliper ? Correct ?
Yep, between the pad and the caliper piston.

No

Caliper / piston (or pot) / copper grease / pad / disc / pad / copper grease / piston / caliper.
