MG MGF Technical - Starter motor
I think my starter motor is "F? not very good?" How difficult is it to change? Can it be done throught the boot or do you need to gain access through the removable cover behind the seats? Thanks |

I think you access it from under the car. Not the boot or cover behind the seats. |

Got my starter motor off can not access it from underneath had to remove the metal cover behind the seat and also removed the rear passenger side wheel. Also needed to remove the access grill within the boot, with all that done it was still a double jointed wrist job! Thank a bunch to Dieter's MGF website. |

when you refit you might consider fitting new earth strap from started top bolt to bulkhead as original one is not very good done this to mine while i was at it |

Seconded! I go even further and have a big engine block earth lead all the way back to the battery to be on the safe side! |

rj Sorry mate did not notice an earth strap fixed to the starter bolt? |

There isn't, but it woudn't hurt in addition to the existing one - whose condition at the engine end can be hard to examine on a regular basis. |
