MG MGF Technical - Starter Motor from VVC
Hi all, Can I use a starter motor from a VVC in a non VVC 1.8i? The lucas number for a VVC is LRT186. Lucas number for a non VVC is LSR616 I'm assuming I can as per this info. http://www.woodauto.com/Component.aspx?Ref=EXS314116102 but just want to make sure. thanks. Branko. |

Hello Branko How goes it down under? I have just looked up the starter motor in my workshop manual. There appears to be no difference in motors. The only oddball is the one for the Steptronic. HTH Regards Tony UK +1deg C BRRRRRRRRRRRRR |

G'day Tony, Thanks for the advice. Manual only. (I think that the vvc starter has a higher kw output.) Yes, It's summer here 20-30c and lots of topless F's. :-) You'd better use those long-johns to keep warm now. Cheers, Branko. (just about to crack another Cold beer.) |

Hi Branko, Drop Lawrie an email or give him a call. He has a wide range of secondhand and refurbished parts - always supplied what I've needed. +64 3 365 0151 or mgservicecentre@xtra.co.nz Cheers D |

Thanks Dennis, I'll see how I go. Cheers, Branko |

For what it's worth I am using an MPi starter motor in my VVC, without problems... :-) I suppose by rights, we could swap - but what a hassle. Hope that helps. d. |

D, Thanks for the offer. Yeah, too much hassle to do that and postage is a killer from UK to Aus and then back. I have just been able to source one local (well not quite) for my friend so all is well. Cheers, Branko. |
