I have a Y plate Trophy 160, the tracking has been done on a 4 wheel alinement computer not long ago. But it feels not great in the straight-ahead departmet.I feel I am allways trying to do slight corrections and its also effected by wind and road suface changes. Its just not relaxing to drive at 70. I have had the tyres @ 24,36 28,36 any one else had this? Kev.C |

>the tracking has been done on a 4 wheel alinement computer not long ago. .. done to which toe angles ? Did they also check the play of wheel bearings, track rod ends, lower ball joints and rear rubber bearings, the subframe mounts and control arms. Not to forget the correct alignment of the measurement laser heads at the rims circumference. Regards Dieter |

dieter is so right i had my 4 way set up twice ( once by an expert of the laser manufacturer) two weeks after the first go the car went side ways down the road and up am embankment. car into garage both track road ends very badly worn . car was " repaired " car then retracked . the cars is now sitting down at mikes with front and rear top ball joints so badly worn that sir satur said it was a potential mobile accident spot. so forget any tracking until a FULL check of all the basics is carried out. remember 2 garages + plus two tracking "secialists did not do the basics.... i was lucky..gerry |

>specialists did not do the basics This where no speciallists ... ;) At last not for speciallities at MGF/TF or principals at rear driven cars. Though, ball joints should not wear so early and the suspension design using cheap *undefined* rubber at locations of probably tolerances doesn't make the job easier. Kev, I suspect it might be useful to complain the alignment and let them do again. They must be able to tell you whether a correct job is impossible due to worn or loose suspension parts while the car rests on the moving slide plates of the measurement assy. HTH Dieter |

Dieter Do you know the tow setting for a Trophy? I think I should check with the garage incase they are not the same as a normal F, or may be the alignment computer has the wrong data in it! Kev.C |

Kev, Trophy 160 tracking settings ARE different to the standard MGF's - see http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/facts_and_figures/tracking_data.htm |
